Looking for new dog gear? Check out some of our favorite brands!

Harnesses:

Harnesses are a great option for your pups. We recommend “Y'“ shaped harnesses that do not interfere with dog’s shoulders, and instead go under their front legs. We do NOT recommend easy walk front clip harnesses since they do touch on their shoulders and can cause gait issues. Here are some of our favorites!

If you are having a hard time with loose leash walking, the 2hound harness has both a front and back clip to attach their leash to at the same time which can help build your leash skills! https://2houndsdesign.com/products/black-freedom-no-pull-dog-harness?variant=46292683194673

We also like the Ruffwear brand for harnesses! It clips in the back and has two straps tp help dogs that might get out of other types of harnesses! https://ruffwear.com/products/hi-and-light-dog-harness

Collars:

We love martingale collars! These collars help prevent dogs from backing out of collars as they get smaller when pressure is applied.

Leashes:

We recommend either a 4,5, 6 foot leash. We also like biothane leashes since they are washable! We do not allow Flexi leashes for our walks.

Tools:

If you have worked with a trainer and your dog is conditioned and comfortable to use a tool such as a prong, starmark, or head halter, we will use them on walks if owners would like. Herm Sprenger prong collars are the only safe option since they have a trachea plate. Head halters must fit appropriately and walkers will also attach a back up connector to their leash as well for safety.

If you have any questions about what gear would work best for your dog, reach out to your walker or Tess and wed be happy to help give some recommendations.

It’s getting to be chilly outside! It is important to keep our dogs warm, especially if they are small or have short fur coats. Here are some of our favorite brands for winter coats. There are many options for most of these companies.
